COVID-19 Update - June 3rd, 2020

All,
I just wanted to briefly update everyone on what's happening at Galion Historical Society concerning COVID-19. On May 30th, Governor DeWine signed an order extending the closure for museums and historic sites. Per this order, we are not allowed to be open to the general public until July 01, 2020. It was the decision of our Board of Directors that we shut down all face-to-face events, tours, and museum hours until September 8th, 2020. At this time the board will reassess what the remainder of 2020 will look like. Office hours will be switching to an appointment-only basis and staff is available via phone and email during our normal operating hours of 10:00 -12:00 and 1:00 -4:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
We are working on a virtual Veteran Banner Ceremony for those who purchased a 2020 Veteran Banner and received an invite at registration. A formal letter will be sent to all sponsors regarding details of that virtual event and information will be released on our website and social media.
2018 Veteran Banner Pick-Up has not yet been rescheduled. Letters regarding the rescheduled date and information will go out to sponsors once we have the information ready to share. We are currently navigating new safety guidelines and figuring out the best way to reschedule this event and meet requirements. We appreciate your patience as we navigate our way through this unfolding situation.
We are keenly aware that everyone is facing financial strain during these unprecedented times. Our organization is no different. If you are able, we ask that you help support local history by making a donation!
Sincerely,
Tanesha Pickering
